1. Project Overview

This project involved the creation of a new liquid production line within an existing and fully operational industrial facility in Halle, Belgium. Unlike a greenfield project, the works had to be executed inside a running factory, where production continuity, safety, access management, and technical coordination were critical from day one.

The challenge was significant: build new industrial infrastructure without stopping the surrounding operations. The project required a strong brownfield strategy, combining civil engineering, structural works, steel construction, and on-site coordination within a constrained production environment.

With a total project value of approximately €25 million, the works demanded a high level of technical preparation and execution control. Despite the complexity, production downtime was limited to approximately 10%, demonstrating the importance of planning, phasing, and hands-on site supervision.

2. Scope of Works

The scope covered several critical phases of the project, from structural assessment and civil works to steel erection and execution follow-up. The works were carried out in close coordination with the project partners and site teams to ensure safe and efficient progress inside the operational factory.

The scope included:

3. Result & Added Value

The project successfully delivered the construction support for a new liquid production line inside an existing factory, under challenging brownfield conditions. Despite the scale and complexity of the works, downtime was limited to approximately 10%, allowing the industrial operations to continue during most of the project.

The added value of this project lies in the ability to manage a difficult industrial construction environment where space, safety, planning, and production continuity were constant constraints. From basement reinforcement and piling works to steel frame erection and stability checks, the project required both technical expertise and strong field coordination.

This project demonstrates the capability to deliver complex industrial infrastructure in demanding brownfield conditions: building inside an operating factory, controlling risk, limiting downtime, and turning a highly constrained environment into a successful construction zone.
